sunday @ the local coffee shop.
4 friends were talking over coffee:
agnes: "hey guys! have you heard the news?"
bert/charlize: " what news?"
agnes: "ethan's getting married!"
charlize: "really?! when?!"
agnes: "just found about it yesterday from frankie."
bert: "i see. so when's the wedding?"
agnes: "two months from now. october 4."
daniel: "don't you think that they goin' too fast? i mean, they just met three months ago."
bert: "they're in love. that's all that matters, at least to both of them."
charlize: "i wish them all the best. ethan's finally settling down. party's over."
the four of them laughed in unison. then after the ruckus...
agnes: "now, i wonder when will the four of us get married?"
bert: "im definitely out of the list. sad to say, been down that aisle before and look what happened. i got ditched on the day of my wedding. i won't allow that to happen again."
charlize: "c'mon bert. im sure there's someone out there that's waiting for you to give her that reason to walk down the aisle."
bert: "really now..."
charlize: "really."
charlize took a sip from her cup, gave bert a quick glance and sighed.
daniel: "i've never been the marrying type. the whole concept just doesn't fit my personality. im too free-spirited to be tied down."
agnes: "well yeah. i would never marry someone like you."
daniel: "excuse me?"
agnes: "no girl in his right mind would marry you daniel. why? because fidelity to you is a concept that is way beyond your mind's processing capacity."
daniel: "what?! watch your words lady."
charlize: "quit it agnes."
daniel: " yeah, quit it."
bert: "how about you agnes? any plans of getting married?"
agnes: "find me a boyfriend first then i'll get back to you with an answer."
everbody laughed again.
charlize: "the need to belong is one human need that is very hard to fulfill."
agnes: "maslow should have put it on top of the list instead."
daniel: "just look at the bright side people! at least we get to get out whenever we want to, go wherever we want to and do everything we want without worrying about what will our partner say."
agnes: "words of wisdom from a true 15 year old. life is not all about partying and sex you know."
daniel: "that's not what i meant ms. im-gonna-contradict-everything-that-daniel-says."
bert: "i think daniel here is just trying to point out the joys of being single."
daniel: "thank you!"
bert: "but daniel, at some point you still do have to settle down."
daniel: "says who? you guys? my mom? i don't think so."
charlize: "well i guess the four of us are gonna be staying in singleton indefinitely."
bert: "you make it sound like we're in the death row."
agnes: "tick-tock, tick-tock."
daniel: "c'mon it's not that bad."
agnes: "that coming from you makes me feel even worse."
